Transfer of Ownership of a Libyana Phone Line

The Line Transfer Service is offered by Libyana to its valued clients, with the aim of facilitating and accelerating the process of linking to the National ID number and transferring the usufruct right on the lines.

How to get the service

Clients can make the transfer and connection by following the simple steps listed below:

  • Linking the national number to the phone number:
    • To link your phone number to your national number, please dial *700#.
  • Transfer of Usufruct:

    If the number is not registered in the subscriber's name and they wish to transfer the usufruct right, the following procedures must be followed:

    • Personal Attendance
    • In case the number is registered in the name of a subscriber, the transfer of usufruct requires the Libyana SIM card usufruct transfer documents.
      Namely:
      • Proof of identity (valid passport)
      • Waiver contract from a notary public
      • Original contract for the phone line or the actual SIM card
  • Confirmation of the operation:
    • Confirmation of the transaction requires uploading a photo of the person performing the procedure and a copy of the official document used to prove identity.
  • General conditions:
    • The subscriber must provide the National ID number and the original ID document to complete any transaction.

Transferring ownership of a telephone line

For a Libyan subscriber
  • Personal attendance.
  • Proof of the subscriber's identity, a valid passport.
  • Waiver contract from a notary
  • Original contract for the phone line or the actual SIM card.
  • You must have less than 5 Libyana SIM cards registered in your name.
    For a foreign subscriber
    • Personal attendance.
    • Passport (original and photocopy).
    • Waiver contract from a notary
    • Original contract for the phone line or the actual SIM card.
    • You must have less than 2 Libyana SIM cards registered in your name.

      1. For a Libyan subscriber


      • Personal attendance.
      • Proof of the subscriber's identity, a valid passport.
      • Waiver contract from a notary
      • Original contract for the phone line or the actual SIM card.
      • You must have less than 5 Libyana SIM cards registered in your name.

      2. For a foreign subscriber


      • Personal attendance.
      • Passport (original and photocopy).
      • Waiver contract from a notary
      • Original contract for the phone line or the actual SIM card.
      • You must have less than 2 Libyana SIM cards registered in your name.

      Note:

      If you do not have time to complete the transfer procedure, one of your first-degree relatives (father, mother, son, daughter, husband, wife, brother, sister) can attend on your behalf and provide the aforementioned documents in addition to the identity proof of the person acting on your behalf.

        What are the documents required in case of decease of the phone line owner?
        1. The death certificate of the owner of the phone line (original or a true copy of it).
        2. Proof of identity of the heirs' agent.
        3. A legal petition of the deceased.
        4. A waiver from all heirs mentioned in the legal petition agreeing to transfer the ownership of the telephone line to the person wishing to transfer the ownership, provided that this waiver is notarized by the court or a notary public.
        If the phone line belongs to a public or private entity, can I transfer it to myself?

        Yes, you can if you have the following:

        1. Proof of your identity.
        2. A waiver letter from the entity.
        3. In addition to the presence of yourself or one of your first-degree relatives mentioned above.
