Transferring the Libyana SIM account ownership

You can transfer the SIM Card ownership from the original owner to you by visiting one of our Business Centers near you, with providing the following:

For Libyan Subscribers:
  1. Personal appearance.
  2. Proof of identity, either ID card, Passport or even family booklet (Original + photocopy).
  3. The SIM card that you want to transfer its ownership (in case you don't have it, you have to bring a waiver contract from the original owner) .
  4. The original contract (in case you don't have it, you have to bring the initial receipt given by the distributor).
  5. You must have you must have less than 5 SIM cards registered in your name.
For Foreign Subscribers:
  1. Personal appearance.
  2. Passport (Original + photocopy).
  3. The SIM card that you want to transfer its ownership (in case you don't have it, you have to bring a waiver contract from the original owner) .
  4. The original contract (in case you don't have it, you have to bring the initial receipt given by the distributor).
  5. You must have less than 2 SIM cards registered in your name.
In case you don't have time to complete the procedure in person, one of your nearest relatives (Parents, sun/daughter , husband/wife or sister/brother) can attend instead to complete it with providing the previous documents plus a proof of his/her identity.

1- What are the required documents in case the owner was dead?

  1. Death certificate of the original owner (the original or exact copy).
  2. Proof of the heir’s agent’s identity.
  3. Legal Portion.
  4. A certified Waiver of all legal heirs whose names are listed in the Legal Portion that they agreed to transfer the SIM card ownership to a particular person.


2- The number I use is considering one of the distinctive numbers, so can I transfer it into my name?

No, you can't unless the original owner is dead.

3- If the number belongs to a company or institution, can I register it under my name?

Yes, you can with providing the following:
  • Proof of your identity.
  • A waiver letter from the company.
In addition to your presence or one of your nearest relatives.
